Vorant President David J. Bianco is starting the Hampton Roads Snort Users Group (HRSUG).  The first meeting is Thursday, December 1st at 7:00PM at the Williamsburg Regional Library.  Full details, including the address and program information, can be found here.

Bianco will speak at InfoSeCon 2005 June 6 - 9 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.  InfoSeCon is Croatia's premiere Information Security Conference, and David will be teaching a one day Master Class on Network Security Monitoring as well as presenting a conference talk on using the Open Source Sguil NSM software to implement a robust security monitoring program.  If you're in Europe, don't miss it!
